No Shoes Allowed.

FALL FAMILY PHOTO SESSION | OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS

Just kidding. Shoes are fine. But there is something about a barefoot babe that tells a story that I love.

And this particular tale happened to be in early November when the temperature was hovering around 40 degrees during our photoshoot. This cute little nugget wanted nothing to do with sock, shoes, or a coat — but was freezing nonetheless.

His mom and dad made it work, though, and I shot while the cuddled and consoled him.

After all, those are the moments that I remember as a parent of littles: booboo kisses, long snuggles, and soothing rocking sessions.

No matter how old my children get, there is still the need to hold them and the feeling of their weight in my arms.
