My Top-5 Favorite Photos from Spring 2024

I photograph high school seniors, families, and personal brands, so narrowing my favorite photographs to five this spring was challenging.

But here they are, in no particular order:

Father & Son with Flower

I loved this moment because the father was tender and loving, but the slight smirk on the toddler’s face foreshadowed his ornery streak.

Girl with Dried Flower Crown

It’s usually pretty fun creating art with my daughter, and in this shot, we worked together to craft a dried flower crown and haunting makeup. I photographed and edited the shot so it ended up super moody.

Family in a Wildflower Field

Kansas City photographers always complain about how we don’t have mountains or oceans nearby. But magical locations can be found just about anywhere.

Theatre Kid in Downtown Kansas City

Incorporating a senior’s interest into their senior session is high on my priority list. And this guy was big into theatre. Unfortunately, we had limited time to find an indoor location, so we opted for shots in front of the KC Music Hall and played around with the setting sun until we got the perfect flare

A Senior on the Run

She wanted to run through a field in a gown, and I was all about it. I love how the sun highlights her curls and the rays add dimension to the image.

Liz Davenport

Liz Davenport of Sunshine and Shadows Photography creates cinematic portraits with a touch of film and a whole lot of drama. Based in Kansas City, MO, she serves high school seniors, families, and personal brands across the metro and United States.
