BEAUTY & THE BOULDER | SENIOR PHOTOSHOOT IN OLATHE

Can I just use this space to tell you how obsessed I am with these images? Is that OK :)

As a professional photographer, my number one concern is to make sure the client is happy, and I’ll be the first to admit, that sometimes, art takes a back seat to a shot list. Typically, it’s only after I have worked my way through different combinations and poses that I give myself the space to be truly creative.

But not with this shoot.

During this senior session, both her and her mom were on board to make art. I was given permission to be me, and that is such a freeing feeling. So without hesitation, I used my Lensbaby Edge 35 for at least 50% of the pictures. Because it’s a creative lens, normally I shy away from using it until the end, but I knew it’d be perfect to create creamy skin against the darkness of the forest.

It’s a painterly combo that I truly love.
